Upstairs in the Saltash Library, Simon Hall read extracts from his new novel 'The Death Pictures'.
In real life he is the BBC's Crime Correspondent in the South West of England. But to those
at Saltash Library he is also the author of the Dan Groves and Adam Breen detective novels,
in which a TV reporter and a detective work together to solve a series of extraordinary
crimes.
Simon did not simply read the contents of his latest book to his audience, he explained the
process behind writing a novel. His journey into publishing was as interesting to many, as
were the riddles that ran through the book. The dedication to finding time to write, was he
believed, as important as the writing itself. But he reminded budding writers, that when you
couldn't write, you simply had to walk away from it and do something completely different.
Certain librarians claimed to have solved the riddles, although the audience remained
sceptical about this.
Fans of his work were able to buy copies of the latest book and lucky enough to get his
signature.

The gathering was also eager to hear the news that his next book would be published in
September this year and looked forward to reading about the Evil of the Valley, which
apparently takes place in a coombe.
